The Fashion Trends Every Serious Collector Is Watching This Season

The season's most significant movements are about craft, not novelty.

The most interesting thing about this season’s collections is not what is new. It is what is returning — and why.

Across the major houses and independent labels, there is a consistent movement away from concept-driven, spectacle-oriented fashion and towards a reassertion of fundamental clothing values: fit, fabric, construction and the considered relationship between a garment and the body that wears it.

Natural dyes, revived through collaborations with artisans maintaining traditional practices, are appearing in collections that a few years ago would have reached for synthetic colour as a matter of course.
